SALT and motherhood

Question:
Hello!

I am a self-insured person - owner and manager of Ltd. (not registered for VAT) - a beauty salon where I work alone. I am about to give birth, and my question is do I have to appoint a manager for the company if it will not operate when I am a mother? Also, if I don't hire someone for the company, will my motherhood decrease?

Thanks in advance!

Answer:

Hello,

To receive maternity leave you have two options:

1. If after your maternity leave the company will not operate, you do not need to appoint another manager. You will receive your compensation normally.

2. If after your maternity leave you want the company to continue its activities, you will have to appoint another person as a manager.

The amount of compensation does not depend on which of the two options you choose.

We also remind you that in order to receive maternity leave as a self-insured person, you must be insured for general illness and maternity leave.

We hope we have been helpful to you.

Greetings!
