Project work during motherhood
Project work during motherhood
Question:
Hello!
I am currently on maternity leave. I am an employee of a company and I am not a self-employed person and I have no other connection with the company than an employment contract. Can I work extra and if so, what are the options? What are the options for project-based work? For example, how can I work on a project that has a fixed duration of 1 month or a longer-term project with paid hours and tasks from time to time? Is a civil contract for certain hours also an option?
Thanks in advance!
Answer:
Hello,
You have two options:
1. If the project is with the company with which you have an employment contract, then you can return to work, receiving only 50% of your due maternity benefit.
2. You can conclude a civil contract for the implementation of the project in question. Keep in mind, however, that there are no working hours or jobs in a civil contract. The civil contract is for performing a certain job within a certain period of time against a certain payment. In this case, you will not lose your maternity benefit.
We hope we have been helpful to you.
Greetings!
