YouTube channel ad revenue.

Question:
Hello!
I want to ask about the taxes YouTube -> Google AdSense ads that appear before the videos. I have a YouTube channel and I receive approximately BGN 180 per month.
Do I have to pay taxes since I only receive BGN 180 per month. Do I need to register a company?
Is there a legal way without registering a company?
Thanks in advance!

Answer:
Hello,
In principle, the law does not differentiate between the amount of income generated. Whether it is BGN 1.00 or BGN 1,000,000.00, the obligation to declare is the same. This also applies in your case.
At the moment, since you do not have a registered company, you will only be able to declare the income received so far as an individual. For the future, you can choose and register a company. Both forms of activity (individual and company) have their pros and cons. For the amount of income you quoted, it would not be very appropriate to register a company, since the administrative costs, taxes and insurances you will owe will exceed the amount of income realized.

What is more specific in your case is the fact that you receive income from a legal entity that is established outside of Bulgaria. According to Art. 97a of the VAT Act, you are subject to mandatory VAT registration. This also applies to natural persons. This registration mode does not require you to charge and pay VAT on your sales, but it does require a monthly declaration of your income and where you got it from. More importantly, the registration on this basis must be done no later than 7 days before the provision of the first service (in your case, you receive income from Google for providing your YouTube channel for advertising - i.e. this is the service you provide to Google).

Unfortunately, you don't have a "useful move":
1. The first option is to follow the law and register for VAT. During the registration process, the NRA will check you, where they will find that you received income from Google and that you should have registered for VAT earlier. It is very likely that they will draw up an act of violation (due to the fact that the legal deadline for VAT registration has not been met). If you have no other violations and if you come across a more understanding NRA officer, you may get away without a ticket.
2. The second option is to continue without registration and rely on "passing between the drops" - i.e. not to be checked. However, in the event of such a future violation, you will, in any case, be issued with an act for the violation.
We hope we have been helpful!
Greetings!
