Combining free profession and employment contract

Combining free profession and employment contract

Question:
Hello!
I am interested in how I can register to work as a freelance photographer and videographer. I am currently working as an appointed person and they provide me with another company where I want to continue working. Is it possible to be simultaneously an employed person who works in a given company, but at the same time freely exercises another profession according to the labor code?
Thanks in advance!

Answer:
Hello,
The registration of a person exercising a free profession takes place in the Bulstat Register. For the registration itself, you need to provide an identity document, a document certifying that you can perform the activity for which you are registering (diploma, certificate or something similar). A registration application and a declaration are filled out on the spot. After entering the documents within 24 hours, your registration is issued. The next step is, when you start a real activity, to submit to the National Revenue Agency a declaration, ok. 5, to declare that you are starting your activity and, accordingly, starting your insurance.
There is no obstacle to simultaneously work on an employment contract and exercise a freelance activity. Regarding insurance - you will owe your insurance contributions in the amount of 27.8% calculated on the basis of the income you have realized, but on an amount not lower than the minimum insurance income for the month (780.00 BGN). The fact that you are already insured under an employment contract does not release you from the obligation to pay these insurance contributions. In addition to the minimum insurance income, however, there is also a maximum (BGN 3,400.00). This means that the amount on which you are insured under an employment contract and the amount on which you pay insurance as a freelancer cannot exceed BGN 3,400.00.
We hope we have been helpful!
Greetings!
