How can I increase my monthly social security income?

Question:

Hello,
My question is related to the possibility of additional insurance payments in order to increase the insurance status. Can a TD employee pay additional amounts to the NRA separately and independently? The purpose of this is, after taking maternity leave, to receive higher benefits. Does the person need to register as a freelancer or can he simply deposit the money with the agency? What would be the appropriate order for these actions? What declarations, to whom, how to determine the amount of contributions and what income would they be responsible for? Is the amount of maternity benefit based on the last 24 months? Thank you for your time!

pregnancy, insurance, accounting services, Varna, Ruse, Plovdiv, Burgas, Sofia

Answer:

Hello,

As we understand the purpose of supplementary insurance is to get more maternity benefits, we will start answering your questions a little bit backwards.

First, you are right in thinking that the benefit is based on the insurance income for the last 24 months. Also, the monthly basis on which the benefit is calculated may not exceed the maximum monthly income for the country for the respective year. There are several options to increase your monthly social security income. The first is simply to raise the insurance income of the employment contract itself. The second option is to start securing a second employment contract. The third option is to register as a self-insured person. The third option, however, is that you have to have some reason to register. Generally speaking, you must either become the owner or partner of EOOD / OOD or, as a result of proper orientation, register as a freelancer. Of course, of all options, the easiest one would be the freelance one. However, registering as a "freelancer" also has its requirements, the most important and important requirement being that you must have a document certifying your competence in the field in which you practice this profession - for example, if you wish to register as a freelancer - architect, you must have a diploma in architect.

However, there are also risks associated with this "exercise" for higher social security income. The first risk is that you may not be recognized as a self-insured person if you are not practicing as such. The second risk is whether the difference in maternity you will receive will exceed the value of the social security contributions you have to pay. Realistically, if you start higher insurance once you already know about pregnancy, there is no economic sense in starting higher insurance. The NSSI website has a calculator for hospital calculations, which is available with the NSSI PIC. With it, you can check what amount of compensation you would receive at your current level of insurance and possibly increase your insurance coverage by self-insurance.

We hope we have been helpful.

Greetings!
