I am considering starting an online business, but since I am not sure exactly when I will start the business and how successful the venture will be, I have two questions.
1. What are the company's liabilities and costs if it stops generating sales at some point or before it ever starts (such as taxes, accounting, etc.)?
2. If at some point we freeze the activity (stop sales), do I have to submit some special declaration to state this?

1. Even if there are no sales, the company may have hired staff, various expenses (electricity, water, rent, for goods, materials, etc.), which actually represent an activity and are subject to accounting. Before starting business, you have no obligation to pay or submit any documents, or you have no obligation to pay for accounting services. If at any time you wish to cease operations (with a declaration), your insurance obligations through the company as a manager/self-insurer will cease, if you have dismissed the employees, and their insurance and wages will cease, there will also be no accounting costs. However, if the company is registered for VAT and for some reason it cannot be de-registered at the moment (for example, if it is registered under Article 100 - voluntary registration), then until the moment of de-registration zero VAT returns must be submitted (otherwise the fine is BGN 500 for each missed). With an active company, you will have minimal costs for insurance (about BGN 220/month), costs for accounting services, and hence current company costs (water, electricity, rent, goods, materials, services, etc.).

2. Yes, the company's activity is frozen with a special declaration. The accountant is responsible for this, after instructions from you.
