Personal expenses as a company expense
Personal expenses as a company expense
Question:
Hello!
Could you tell me when purchasing personal items, such as a suitcase for travel, reading glasses with diopter or similar, can they be invoiced and recorded as a company expense? The company is an EOOD, not registered for VAT if that matters.
Thanks in advance!
Answer:
Hello,
The law does not allow personal expenses to be recognized for tax purposes as company expenses and accordingly they do not reduce the realized profit. If the company nevertheless makes payments for such type of expenses, it is appropriate that they be declared as "hidden distribution of profit" and a 5% dividend tax be paid for them.
We hope that we have been useful to you!
Best regards!
