Is the SAL eligible for termination unemployment benefit?
Is the SAL eligible for termination unemployment benefit?
Question:
Hello,
I use your help on a case in which I cannot get an adequate answer. Since 2010 I have been a farmer with minimal insurance. I began to self-secure at the higher threshold for hospital and maternity. April 2017 I gave birth and am currently in maternity, which expires in 4 months. My question is: can I sign up for the Labor Office as I cease farming and will I receive financial compensation?
Thank you in advance for the information!
Answer:
Hello,
In short, the answer is NO, you will not receive unemployment benefits.
All you need to do is register as an unemployed person. However, in order to receive compensation for being an unemployed person, there are several eligibility requirements. One of the conditions is that in the previous 18 months from the date of registration as an unemployed person, you must have at least 12 months in which you are insured for an unemployment fund. In the first place, being a self-insured person means that you are not covered by the unemployment fund, therefore you are not entitled to unemployment benefits.
We hope we have been helpful.
Greetings!
