Double Insurance?
Question:
I work on a civilian contract and my client assures me by submitting Declaration-template 1 to NRA, and I am a lawyer. I have sent them a statement that I am a self-insured person. I think I have to import everything. So de facto we have double insurance. Am I right? Thanks!
Answer:
Hello,
As a self-insured person during the year, you pay insurance (advance on selected insurance income, but not less than BGN 420). At the end of the year, an invalidation is made, as for the difference over 420 monthly insurance contributions. Your work on a civil contract is also subject to advance insurance and advance deduction of income tax. At the end of the year, you will receive from your contracting authority under civil contract an official note about your paid salaries and deductions from advance payments and tax. When completing the annual tax return, you will declare in addition to your earnings as a lawyer and those under a civil contract, by filling in the service note and the deductions for contributions and taxes.
In this way, you will be deducted from the sums due beforehand, the already made advance payments and taxes and you will not have double payment of the same.
Greetings.
